  • Actual client: Provider requests, commands and MCP calls need their own supported proxy configuration.
  • Sandbox policy: Preserve Claude Code's local policy proxy when configuring an upstream proxy.
  • Remote MCP: Its onward API calls originate on the server host; local settings do not configure that route.
  • Both addresses: Allowlist both dashboard IPs and verify the client making the protected request.
  • Product fit: Use compatible HTTP or HTTPS proxy routes; Claude Code does not support SOCKS proxies. Shield adds TLS on the proxy hop.
